This is one of my favourite recipes. Great for those cold winter days, and even better with beer on a hot summer day! I usually serve it with long grain white rice.

Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 kilo beef mince
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 diced capsicum (usually green for contrast)
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 can kidney or pinto beans, drained
- 1 can of chopped tomatoes
- 1/4 cup dry white wine
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chilli powder
- 1 finely chopped hot chilli (jalapenos or the like)
- 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano, crushed
Directions:
- Heat the oil. Add garlic, then onion.
- Once onion is cooked till transparent add beef and cook until meat is no longer pink.
- Stir in beans, wine, tomatoes, chili, chili powder and spices.
- Simmer for about an hour.
- Serve hot.
